At Craigflower Elementary School we offer a wide variety of programs designed to enhance physical literacy rates rates in our children.
Here are some of the programs our school provides:
PISE: During school Physical Education classes provided by The Pacific Institute of Sport and Excellence and partnered by Saanich Parks and Recreation
Floor Hockey: A co-ed program, floor hockey is offered to all Grade 4-5 students during February and March
Cross Country: Distance running (approximately 1 km) open to all Grade 3-5 students. Cross Country is offered both in the fall and in the spring. Students participate in a variety of practices and district meets.
Soccer: A co-ed program, soccer has been offered to both Grade 2 and 3 students and Grade 4 and 5 students in the fall supported by staff- Vini Zucko
Basketball: Grade 3, 4 and 5 co-ed basketball is offered after the winter break, entered in the family school event at Shoreline Middle School. Coached by Jack Tran.
Track & Field: Track is offered to Grades 3 to 5 and includes the following events: 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay and the 800m. Practices typically occur during the school day. Students attend the uvic zone track meet.
